How can you bear fruit that will last?

Text Psalm 1:1-6; 92:1-7; John 15:1-4

I aim to outline how you can bear fruit that will last and introduce you to Christian meditation to help you think through how to bear fruit that will last.

Bearing fruit, they will last: An Outline

  • Learning from God, how He created and sustains the universe (Genesis 1-3).

  • Learning from godly people in the past who bore lasting fruit (1 Cor 10:1-13; Hebrews 11 )

  • Jesus Christ the foundation of life (Matt 7:24-26; John 15)

  • Pay attention to Weightier matters of God’s law (Matthew 23:23)

  • Eternal virtues (Love, Faith, hope -1 Cor 13:13; 2 Peter 1:3-11).

  • Godly habits for healthy living (e.g., 1 Cor 3:10-15)

  • The wicked shall perish, but the righteousness shall live forever (e.g. Psalm 92:7; 37:1-2; Matthew 13:49-50).

Christian meditation: An introduction

Christian meditation is more than breathing techniques. We think deeply about God's word, e.g., concerning the situation at hand, to find out God’s will and what we should practically do in this world and the one to come ( Psalm 1, Joshua 1:7-9; Genesis 24:62-65; James 1:22-25).
