Meditation in the life of the Christian
Text Joshua 1:8-10
The mission (what to be done): lead the people to the Promised Land. Find out your God-given mission in life
The vision: to give them the Promised Land (9: 3-4). God promised to be with Joshua (1:5). Always remember that God is with you as a Christian (Matt 28:20).
The charge God gave to Joshua (1:6-9).
1. Be strong and courageous (do not fear), 2. meditate on my word, do them, and you will be prosperous; this is a charge to every Christian.
What is Christian meditation?
This is a diligent study of God's word to understand and apply it in all situations.
Importance of meditation (Christian sense).
You will be careful to do what is right, God’s will. This is because what will be in your mind is the word of God you will get your decision right, thus if you are willing to follow the truth. N.B: You become whatever you give your attention to.
You will prosper because you will only do what is good and right (also see Psalm 1).
From God’s viewpoint, meditation and prayer solve problems of anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts (Phil 4:6; Mark 1:35-39).
Meditation is a private act of worship (where we acquire deep insights and build strength in the Lord) . Every believer must practice meditate(Deut. 6:4-9; Matt 7: 24- 27; Jam 1:22-25).
Why do some believers not meditate? 1. They don’t make time for God 2. They don’t obey God’s word, and so they don’t see the need to study God’s
How to meditate ( In a Christian sense)
1. Study God's word daily (spend less time on your phone, you will have more time to read the bible, pray, and sleep).

Apply God’s word to every situation (In all situations, ask yourself what is God’s word saying about it)
