God's love and wrath were demonstrated on the Cross when Christ died.
GOOD FRIDAY
Text Isaiah 53:3-6; Colossians 2:13-15
How the death of Jesus happened (Mark 15)
Judas betrayed Jesus, suffered injustice and insults, was crucified
and died on the Cross. On the Cross, we see God’s love and wrath
demonstrated.
Good Friday message
Sin separates us from the Holy God. Therefore, Jesus died for our sins to bring us back to God so that we would live according to His plans for us (e.g., 1 Peter 3:18).
Sin is damaging, as history and our present suffering demonstrate (e.g, Rom 3:23; Psalm 32:3-5).
Sin is complicated to atone for, as God’s redemption plan and Jesus's crucifixion demonstrate.
Some sins cannot be forgiven (e.g., sins against the Holy Spirit ( Matt 12:31), causing a believer to sin (Matt 18:6), rejecting Jesus (John 3:18), taking God’s glory (Acts 12:23).
Don't die in your sins; receive forgiveness in Christ Jesus.
