The resurrection of Jesus: You shall come back to life after death

EASTER SUNDAY

Text Daniel 12:2-3; John 11:21-27

Most cultures believe in coming back to life after death. According to God’s plan, Jesus is the resurrection and the life.

How Jesus' resurrection happened (Mark 16): There were many eyewitnesses to Jesus’ resurrection. Thus, Jesus gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.

Easter Sunday message

1. The resurrection of Jesus is a demonstration of God’s Power: It tells us that the power that raised Christ from the dead can bring life to any dead situation in your life (Rom 8:11).

2. Jesus’ resurrection is a victory over death (Heb. 2:14-15). Therefore, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead proves that, if we receive forgiveness of sins, we will not die in our sins but come back to life (Romans 6:23; 1 Cor 15: 17-19).

3. Every human will return to life: some to glory and others to everlasting shame (Daniel 12:2-3; Rev 20:11-15).

4. Believe in Jesus Christ to have life in his name (John 20:30-31).

5. Therefore, our labour in the Lord shall be rewarded (1 Cor 15:58).
