The perfect human being: body, Spirit, and Soul.

Text 1 Thess. 5:23-24; 2 Cor 11:2-3; Galatians 4:19

Today, we shall explore what the perfect human being is so that we will be able to tell when we are not okay.

Adam failed, but Christ is the measure of the perfect human being (Eph. 4:13). A human being is made up of body, soul and spirit.

THE BODY: houses the soul and the soul and interacts with physical things: The purest state of the human body is for it to be a holy temple for God (1 Cor 6:19-20)

How do we achieve that? Bodily exercise and godliness (living according to the will of God) (1 Tim 4:8).

THE SOUL: is made up of emotions, will, and intellect. A restored Soul is FREE to choose, to do what is right or wrong according to God’s will (Genesis 2:16-17). N.B: When you choose not to do what is right, you corrupt your soul; you can’t be mentally stable.

THE HUMAN SPIRIT: if the spirit in you is God’s Spirit, you will be fine (e.g., Gen 2:7; Rom. 8:9); if it is not God’s Spirit means you are sick or uncleaned or demon-possessed (e.g., 1 Sam 16:14; Luke 11:24-26). If you are born again, pray regularly to be filled with God’s Spirit. If you are not born again, then do so.

SOME BATTLES OVER HUMAN PERSONALITY (2 Cor 11:2-3)

  1. Child custody:

  2. PUBLIC INFLUENCERS-

  3. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE HUMAN IMAGE

  4. RECRUITMENT OF HUMANS FOR THE DEVIL..

  5. DNA GENE MANIPULATION via ungodly sexual activities (Ezra 9:2) or technology (E.g. Leviticus 19:19)

Conclusion: a perfect human is one who takes good care of the body, has the freedom to choose to do what is right or wrong but chooses to do what is right, and always has the Spirit of God in her.
