The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Every human is on a spiritual journey to meet God one day. Some people have found God through Christ,
others have rejected Him, others have made their own idols and called them god, and still, others are
searching for God. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has shown us the Way to the Father through suffering,
death, resurrection, and glorification.
Text Luke 24: 36-47; 1 Cor 15:20-26
Did the resurrection of Jesus happen? Yes!
God says that Jesus rose from the dead (e.g., Luke 24:44-48)
Eyewitnesses account (e.g., Luke 1:1-4; Acts 1:-3).
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead Himself (John 11).
If Jesus rose from the dead, and so what, someone will ask?
This means that every human being will come back to life. Those who believed in God and accepted His offer of salvation in Christ shall receive everlasting life, but those who rejected God to everlasting contempt and destruction (Daniel 12:1-3; 1 Cor 15:20-26).
Your labour in the Lord is not in vain because you will be rewarded now and after death (1 Cor 15:18).
How the resurrection of Jesus happened (John 20)
The resurrection of Jesus happened because God’s power raised Him from the dead ( Romans 8:11). It was the same power that gave the first man, Adam, life (Genesis 2:7). A dead person cannot raise himself from death. Only God can give humans life! If you give your life to God, He will give you a new life, born again (John 3)
