The Mission of God – Missio Dei

This is the belief that God is a missional God who is always at work, seeking to redeem people and restore the world.

Text 2 Chron. 16:9; Psalm 34:15-16

How does God do His missions?

  1. He is Omni (all)- Thus, He is not limited by anything (Psalm 139:1-18) e.g. He is Omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (being everywhere), omnipotent (all-powerful).

E.g, In missions and evangelism (Acts 8:26-29; Acts 18:9-11).

E.g, In Judgement (Genesis 18:20-21; Exodus 32:7-10).

What should we do?

Find out what God is doing and join in. What is God doing now? Saving people (Matt 24:14; 2 Cor.

6:1-2); Judging people (); making the New heaven and earth (Rev 21:1-5).

Live a godly, obedient life; He will visit you with His blessings (e.g., Psalm 34:15-16)

Shun away from evil, or He will visit you with punishment.
