God has life in Himself, He does not need help to exist.
We’re learning how to do evangelism. The world is changing. One is the worship of different gods together(
religious pluralism) or Syncretism. Today we shall learn how God doesn’t like to be worshipped alongside
other gods, and the importance of faith in God alone.
From this we shall conclude that the true God has life in himself; He does not need help to exist.
Text 1 Samuel 5:1-6 Acts 14: 8-18; Acts 17:24-28
The first reading tells what happens when people worship God alongside other gods. In this message, God
allowed the Philistines to capture the Ark of God, a sign that God’s people have been unfaithful. However,
God brought crisis upon the Philistines until the Ark was returned. The mistake the People made was to put
the Great God alongside their gods.
The second reading tells how Christians are to evangelise people to stop worshipping other gods.
Key messages
The true God has life in himself; He needs no one to serve Him to exist.
God does not share His glory with anyone; gods, humans, and spirits
Every knee must bow to Him in submission and His knowledge shall fill the earth
Faith in God is a requirement to receive His blessings. God’s blessing upon someone who does not have faith in Him only hardens the person against God.
Unbelievers cannot be ministers of God because they do not have the Spirit of God (e.Rom 8>9).
